A family member talking of disloyalty
Saying how a friend to be had is a sin
How one can never change
Or even become better.

Years of pain I have endured
Listening to the falseness of truth
Obstaining multiple hits given by those closest
Hits of physical, mental, and emotional downers
And all this has taught me is the cruelty of family.

Why can't family be loving towards one another?
Loved ones who do not break another's spirit
But instead put the building blocks in place one by one
Glueing them together with positive influence and love
Creating a person who glows with the light out of the sky.

Generations come and they go
Though love can never be broken
Its chains continue for years and years on end
Evolving to become stronger and stronger
Until one day they are like a tidal wave, breaking anyone who dares to fight it.

Hate can only spread the same as love
Devolving those they love
Until one day the hatred becomes like a volcano
Burning through the souls of those who come across them
Making them a vast black hole of nothingness.

If only we can keep things a constant
Making them something of a keepsake
So that one day we can look back
Look at the pictures of happy people and know they really are happy
Not the false picture of love forcing the happiness behind the smile.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
