keeping the Wolves at bay

Contributed by Cancer on Thursday, 26th August 2004 @ 10:58:19 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

so bright she shines
in a world dark and malignant
benign like hypodermic spine
seeking vein to sate the pain inflicted

a floating mist
her gait unseen
alluring vapour from dark paradise
gentle curves that leave a man a wreck
lips bent to burn Cocytus' ice

(and at her sight
my mind erupts
the Wolves call for blood
they scream in lust
and with her touch
she sealed her fate
for all my love
just ends in hate)

and for a moment
all is forgotten
as my mind is fogged
by our coupling
but by dim luna's shine
the high subsides
and the cry of the Wolves is deafening

a special kiss to drain her
to leave her pale and shining bright
the Wolves will come to claim her
when I surrender her to the night

(and to the light of dead luna's shine
the Wolves of my Hunger bay
arched necks reflect
a world of white, damned
and faded ashen grey)

dry tears of sorrow and regret
as she is ripped from me
by no hands other than my own
as I hang her from the tree
pale and bright
in full glow like the moon
or an angel some may say
but to me, now she's just meat
providing temporary peace
keeping the Wolves at bay

hmmm couldn't you just break off with her?

Seriously though, great imagery
