As I was directing a lovely scene, a family drama for T.V. actors cried real tears, the script girl came, told me that she was outside ready to blow my cover. “Take ten.” I shouted and scuttled out the backdoor. Ran to the train station along an oddly empty road no people and cars, lightened only by the sadness of sterility. Heard her steps behind me fingers tried to grasp at my shirt as I jumped onto a leaving train; turned saw her smile of triumph and knew that she would never get out of my life.
