Is the torture
That will not disappear
From my soul

The pain
Keeps on
With keeping me
From being happy

Since its
Not creating an easier life
It creates illness
A depression

It doesn’t leave
It just sits there
And tortures me
My soul
My life

On second thoughts...

Here's something I wrote about 20 years ago...

If winds of fate
have frowned your smile
as winds of fate may do,
then cast your eyes
upon a one
who feels just like you do;
a one who's felt
the lonely void
as dark and cold abyss,
and knows too well
the fears that dwell
in such a place as this.

and....

[I don't want to lecture you but have you tried turning to prayer with a open honest heart?]

I can empathize with you feeling a lot of pain. Often there is nothing we can do to change our circumstances, so what is left? The only options that I know are to attempt to take a different attitude toward our circumstances and to rely on our faith and prayer.
