i am a lonely poetess
without words to express,
how much writing means to me
like sand calling to the sea,
when i am not home;
there are words in my suitcase,
where ever i may roam,

last night the muses made me wake up
time to write again, which fills me up,
when life overwhelms and i do not know how
the next sun will rise,
i wipe a tear from my eye
writing into the night
until everything's alright,

when everything goes wrong
and days feel so long,
when bills are high, and i have to sigh,
{and i'm too poor to pay attention}
i just let my mind go,
until deep in my soul,
poetry flows into a smile,
then i know all is well for a while,

living high on this misty mountain,
far from cities and trains.
nature is totally awesome,
with the thunder and the rains,
solitude and memories; opportunities
that have knocked on my door,
the 'if onlys' of life as it was once before
writing by candlelight and tears
poetess me, through the years:)

through life's storms and sunny days
poetry always finds a way,
if ever i lost my gift, surely i'd be adrift,
for i need to write,
like the earth needs the sky,
with me my pen goes
whichever way the wind blows...

"like the earth needs the sky,"

I sense this in my development, and I could well imagine my current obsession (enthusiasm, to sound more healthy and sane) and appreciation turning into something akin to yours, over the years.

Lovely write, Nessa.

The photo's reminded me of the farms that I grew up around, they were of better memories Nessa.
You poetry always seems to astound me into silence, You always draw me into your words, so it fel as if Im there, seeing things through your eyes and feeling what you are feeling.
Even this poem had me enraptured from being to end.

Beautifully written Nessa.

Take Care Always

Karl

Honestly, I can't remember this sentiment in regards to being a poet having been expressed so majestically in regards to personally, poetess. --Mothy

You are the best poetess, friend, lady, woman, and many other adjectives, like my personal favorite, my earthly angel. I wouldn't have made it without you these last few months, Nessa, honestly.

Much love,
Rita

Beautiful write Nessa, just beautiful.

*****through life's storms and sunny days
poetry always finds a way,
if ever i lost my gift, surely i'd be adrift,
for i need to write,
like the earth needs the sky,
with me my pen goes
whichever way the wind blows...

Thank you Nessa, you just wrote a beautiful poetic autobiography

So now I will narrate this poem to you Nessa and to all poets who read.

Huggs to you Nessa and to all of YPDC out there.

Raquel Leah (poetess) ; ))

Nessa, we poets out here, your brothers and sisters
We too realize this gift of writing
The attribute of our power, purified
Much gain of strength, a second life on paper

We are all the mighty heroes, Nessa for all our poems and stories are admired
We came to stand at the foot of YPDC and bow with great respect to Mick

Our genuine writes are our birth, not death
True appearances of our lives are penned
And just like the sun that shines up above
Each word was created searching for love, expressing our love, being in love, or finding a way out of pain

And although sometimes our writes are not easy
We really do not need to explain
Why some writes are cutting, others cling to us
While some just show wonderful miracles

Since I am not the most perfect writer
Sometimes my punctuation is bad, and hey, Sometimes it won't rhyme
But just like your writes, I can tell, arise from the heart

And I am not an actor, or actress
Nor a musician or a singer
Although I do it all on paper
Where I dream

Some of my dreams I write are happy, some are nightmares

Still I will not suffer when I know in a good way
I hold this gift like you Nessa, good or bad results Somehow this joy of writing relieves our pain

So Nessa, you and I and other poets out here will Will pen away our suffering until it no longer exists
As long as we have the heart to write
The agony of this world will cease

Because our rising nature
Is to separate good from the bad
Even if its written light or dark
The paper page will never be empty or starve

I have faith in myself, and in other writers too
That our hearts are fed, and never will decay
As long as we have our moments power to write
Revealing all of our truths we are never ashamed

Because we are writers that create
And when all is examined
We are proud to say
Thank you for your comments
This poem was the miracle of my day

Oh Nessa, so very late I happen to see this your unique write about writing.
Yes Poetess, we are urged to write, - strange that some of our best work arises at a moment of loss and utter devastation in grief.

It's a Higher Power that drives us to write and lay bare our innermost feelings. And it is this Higher Power also that touches the hearts of the readers. as this wonderful work of art does.

Thank you for followig the dictates of the Higher Power and sharing it with us.
Love and peace
Elizabeth

So beautiful. I share many of these thoughts with you, and writing does seem to be the healing balm my soul requires. Exceptional write, it holds up from start to finish.
