My shadow loves your shadow,
What can I say?
It’s following, following, every day.
I cannot make it stop!
Yesterday my shadow pulled me,
All the way to your home.
She watched and sighed all day,
She’s sad, and very alone.
Your shadow seems not to know,
Of mine’s infatuation.
He simply follows you politely,
Never looking back to see mine smiling.
I tell my shadow to let yours be,
But she will never agree.
She simply says that someone like me,
Could never understand what it means.
My shadow thinks I have not known love,
But that I should watch and learn.

So I told my shadow, listen here,
I can get a date with any man near!
She laughed and sneered, before she said,
That man right over there!
Of course she pointed out you,
Who carries the shadow she loves.
So I looked at her, and stepped away,
To let you know what I have to say.
I told you that I have this problem,
I cannot solve alone.
My shadow loves your shadow,
She can’t go on without him.
If you could please give her a chance,
And take us out to dance?

That was very unique. A fresh approach to solving an age old problem. Those dreaded first words. I hope your shadow got her dance ...
