Array ( [sid] => 61116 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Your Last Breath [time] => 2004-08-23 11:58:21 [hometext] => I wrote this poem after being choked by my ex and realizing what it may have felt for my nine year old niece when she died she died a year earlier of an asthma attack [bodytext] => His hands around my neck taking away the air inside of me,

I started to panic...I can’t breathe!

He finally decided let go and I started to cry….a cry so true.

But I cried not for me, I cried because I thought of you.

How horrible of a feeling that was, to want to breathe but you can not find a breath.

For that one split second I knew the feeling you must have felt at the moment of your death.

I can see it clearly, how you must have looked, how terrified you were…

How your last words were you crying out for your Grandma, which on the other end of the line she heard.

Then your head got dizzy and everything turned black…

At that moment you took your last breath, you turned around and never looked back.

It made me so sad, knowing you had to die this way.

Noone thought it would have ended up like this on that day.

Now you’re gone and there’s not much more we can say.

We will always wonder why God took someone so precious to all of us?

But in him we must trust.

Even though its hurts I know I have to let you go.

I know that God has taken you for a reason, even though that reason we may never know.

Now I too must go…this life right here is not for me.

Somehow, somewhere I must work up the courage to get out of here, I need to pack up and leave.
