In the forgotten amber,
Lying still in golden peace
Love waits, patiently, for release

Amber heart, resin hard
All those partners you discard
Once pure feelings, shrivelled black
The patient lover will coax them back.

Diamond eyes, facet gleam
In your passing suitors dream
So much pressure made you stone
A kindred soul will draw you home.

Golden skin, metal smooth
Rejecting all who try to soothe
Too much grasping made you bleed
A gentle touch is all you need.

Silver tongue, vocal shears
Reducing all to bitter tears
A Siren mute for far too long
A calming voice will draw your song.

All these things that you’ve become
Cruelty that has left you numb
Betrayal that has turned you cold
Your lotus soul can still unfold.

A coaxing gaze, a safer path
A proffered hand, a gentle laugh
A trusted guide to share the pain
Your amber heart will beat again. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 185 [topic] => 55 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 40 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

I am in awe. All that feeling and rhyme, too!
What incredible use of symbolism and double meaning. BRAVO to you!

Glad your walls are crumbling, and your heart gets a restart.
Very emotional, you painted a very clear picture and held my eyes to the end of your poem, leaving after images burn into the soul.

Awesome poem.

Take Care

Ohhhh.... this is very, very good. It makes me feel like crawling inside of it and wrapping it around me like a warm blanket. It is very insightful, quite lovely, and... comforting somehow.

Very well constructed and very well thought out. Just beautiful!

S~

I have travelled back a bit, to pluck an earlier work in appreciation ..
and I am absolutely glad I did! How wonderful, this piece in all
it's insight, truth and beauty. I have to say in all honesty I wish I
had wrote this. It's stunningly brilliant and brilliantly stunning.

I simply ADORE how the last line in each stanza speaks of
hope eternal and is postively dripping with optimism.

Wonderful work, Spike, as always.

*really loves this one*
