I awake

I arise

Lead weights crack
Agonizingly slow, they separate imperceptively
Painfully, light penetrates the void
Conciousness wraps tentative tendrils around
Fleeting, half remembered images
Elusive, they evade and fade, returning
To the Darkness
Desparate Demons depart screaming
I will not be theirs this day
My lease on life has been renewed
I awake
Breathing deeply
I arise
I live again
If only for today

I LOVE this part! I can relate to this very much. You speak of such pain, and yet, you try to fight it, beating it down... You have won this battle. However, there is tomorrow...
