My thanks to Jenna and Becky for being very kind soundingboards for me. Heh. [bodytext] => I'd like to soar past kindly skies of sympathetic blue
to careless mists that softly drift away from human eyes
I'd like to see a dollhouse world below from bird's-eye view
and iridesce on gloss-coruscant wings of dragonflies.

would that I could flit about on frail chromatic wings
and fly to find the secrets in the words we never meant
I'd glide to where the day began and see what morning brings
and nevermore would wonder where the shades of sunrise went.

for he who flies has flight to anywhere
but wings so small can't lift us into air--
and should we e'er forget this we'd despair:

dreams are made of lighter stuff,
and for to bear them high aloft,
these glinting wings are just enough.
Those places that we gaze on oft--

on wings of dragonflies all dreams fly there. ...Oh...

Peacock blues, flashing emeralds, and pools of jade just swirled past my mind's eye as I read this. And now I pull away to this monotone world; but maybe you're right about the dreams.

I'm going to have to go through this a few more times. A lot more depth to this one, I know, than I picked up with the first two reads.

It is absolutely beautifully incredible.

I would wish to fly on a dragonfly and see the world from above. It would be like flying in a balloon I would imagine. Soaring gracefully above with no one aware I was there. That would make a beautiful dream. Absolutely enchanting write.

Hugs,
Rita

"and fly to find the secrets in the words we never meant"

Incisive and correct. I thought this concept would trip over itself, being rather subjective . . . but with

"these glinting wings are just enough.
Those places that we gaze on oft--"

I believe it worked with excellence. Here's me rationalising it - I'm only trying to understand how far beyond this conceptual level my poetry could go - and the answer at the moment, is . . .

'not very'.

Beautiful and . . . essentially poetic.

Oh, Nora... I don't know where to begin. I have prattled on before, rather inadequately perhaps - but nonetheless) about your lovely poetic voice. It absolutely shines here. It occurs to me though, that it is not voice alone that brings these most beautiful works to us. It is the combination of that lovely voice with the most amazing heart and soul and mind. You are a glorious poet... AND person.

You are speaking my language here, hon! It's quite Libra-ish, I think... a tribute to the dreamer and to dreaming, presented with the objectivity of a "bird's eye view" (which might seem a contradiction to some, but, I find that I understand it as such). And yes! you are quite right... dreams are quite light. I'd very nearly argue that the dreamer needs to do nothing more than to hold on tightly to their dreams to find themselves lifted... but... somehow, I suspect you are right (though, part of me doesn't want to admit that)- something, a little something, more is needed. A ray of hope, dragonfly wings... just a little something. *sigh*

Desperately seeking that little thing,
SNM

A beautiful testimony, of wishes, although dreams are known to come true, and I hope it is the same for you.
I was astounded by the imagary, and the clarity each word gave me, You have an awesome imagination, and no doubt will go far in life, and saying this I wish you all the best, Awesome poem, I liked this, and I normally only read dark poetry or sad, but this drew me in.

Take care always
