Array ( [sid] => 6009 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Colored Sins [time] => 2002-10-31 21:40:00 [hometext] => A controversial subject...I'm sure you can guess from the title. While some of us do it accidentally and unintentionally I just want to make it known that everybody does it in some way or another...Please do not feel offended. [bodytext] => Will you look at me the same?
Once these words have been said..
Will you feel about me the same?
Once my feelings have been read..
Within the grandest of the spectrums
The colors jump into your mind
And still you can tell the difference
Even if your soul is blind
I seek not your sympathy
Although you might feel like I need it
I seek not a fulfillment
Although you think I should lead it
I'm merely stating a simple fact
Written in the unspoken rules
I know this to be so true
Even within the denying fools
Have you never looked at appearances
And shunned away your could-be friends?
And never decided a soul by beauty
Only shown on skin til end?
Deny the truths and deny this "lie"
But don't deny what is wrong or right
You may deny what you've done
But bring the secret deeds into the light
I myself have committed the crimes
Unknowingly and sometimes with reason
Future generations will perform it too
And may be prosecuted with treason
So I'm startin to ramble
And you may ask what is the crime?
So I'll reply with this simple answer
Look at the fifth line of this rhyme..
"colors" is the word I see
And what does this bring to you?
Racial discrimination and profiling
In the purest of senses, you know it's true
So I'll end my question
For you need to decide
Is this something you'll change
Or a sin that you'll hide... [comments] => 2 [counter] => 276 [topic] => 25 [informant] => huey [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

I do beleive that everyone
in life commits what you call
as a crime, most would probably
be at the curiosity of knowing
what is right and wrong, but as
each of us grow i do beleive
that many people like myself do
not judge another for their looks,
color, nationality, or where they
have come from in life. I don't think
anyone is ever to old to learn or grow
and i think everyone learns lessons
in this particular area.
But everyone is different.
Great write, Keep em' coming

Yawn. This is a sleeper for sure. You had me all eager with your comment, but boy was I dissapointed. Ramble? Yes. Controversial? Hardly. The subject is totally worn out and so as I read this I could hear the lump lump lump of a flattened tire in my head. Is that weird. Anyway, better luck next time. I give it a 1 on the Nortiscale.
