what this day will bring
Lately each one
has been the same old thing

You turn on the tv or radio
to listen to the news
Another act of terrorism
and all the different views

When will the world wake up
and realize there is more to life
Then killing innocent people
or creating pain and strife

People all over are starving
or dying from disease
The governments sit around
just doing as they please

Is it forbidden to help your people
when they are in dire need
Why doesn't the world listen
and hear this desperate plead

The United Nations sits around
and always wakes up to late
This body which was created
to bring about a different fate

Wake Up World, Wake Up World
come to the peoples aid
So they can start living normally
and stop feeling betrayed
