Watch them laughing, smiling while they run
The grass as green as the sky so blue
My images of life shine so true
Our own children with gleams in their eyes
Being so young you can understand why
No hassles no harm, just pure fun
All the little games while they chew their gum
Sometimes tattling, sometimes cries
And even often times a little white lie
But in all of the mischief, and all the bad
Those without children, they wish they had
I as a father can recall
That the best feeling to have amongst them all
Is to watch them grow in this confused world of sorrow
And guide them thru life to reach tomorrow
I, when I get old, will conquer this feat
And know that I have helped them with the goals they will meet
In all of my children, in all of my life
They are Gods angels they are the light
They are our future, in a world so vast
We must teach them that they must last
And teach others their knowledge of love
Maybe just maybe our God up above
Will forgive us all with the mistakes we have made
All will live on all will be saved
Sometimes it’s hard to show my affection
But I think I would win at the next election
As father of the year
I would shed my tears
And say that I love you all equal the same
For I am your father, that’s my name
Know that I love you, know that I care
Know that I will forever be there
Know that my strength is within you
Give the time and I will prove
So live your life and grow your mind
And that’s when it is that I will find
That I have succeeded as a dad
To all the children that I have had…

With five kids, I'm surprised you've had time to sit
down in contemplation to write poetry.*g*

Good effort!
