The rivers are boiling, the sun shines blood red
The people all live underground
In a colorless world full of sound
Their future, like their planet
Is a hollowed out dream
That seems
To bleed their life away

Wise men spoke warnings, year after year
Everyone listened, but just wouldn't hear
So full of greed, envy, anger and hate
Their endless petty wars laid their planet to waste
The children all cried in the darkness
As the monsters all crawled out of Loch Ness
The path of their destruction could be seen
From the highest mountains
All the way to the sea

They hope that one day they'll again see the sun
Return to the surface and face what they've done
But many generations will pass
Before they get that chance
And that which awaits them is something
That no one could have ever thought
To foresee

The plants have mutated, the animals changed
But the law of the jungle still remains the same
It's kill or be killed in this life
For only the strongest survive
Maybe some day they can regain
The peace their ancestors
So foolishly threw
Away

Cities once teaming with life ~
