a softness like an early dawn dream…
your smile lingers long after you leave
and fills the silence with whispers of magic.

I have sometimes reached out to a lonely star
dreaming in the arms of a pristine night…
and sang it a million sonnets about love
and somehow you were a part of each.

There are stories that are yet to happen,
that belong to us, that weave us into each other.
There is a music no one has played before…
that waits over the edge of a song never sung.

I had walked once long back, not knowing,
into a place in your heart that you had forgotten.
I had held your silent words in my hands, seen them smile
back softly, and I had carried some away with me.

Now they remain here deep in my soul…
now they tell me all your sweetest dreams.
They speak a strange and beautiful language that
I’ve never heard before…and yet I understand it.

If I never had another moment with you
I would still have you, I would still be yours.
All the wonder, all the wisdom, all the magic there is...
can never explain this simple mystery…called love.

Before I say anything, I should say that I hate love poems

But this one I absolutely adored

It has been a long time sense I have read a love poem that deserves the name, and for that I am grateful

Thank you very much for this poem, I truly enjoyed its every fluid and heart-felt word

Look forward to more

Vanya ná!

This is lovely. I cannot single out any lines I especially liked, because they all wove together too well. All I can say is, this is a perfect poem to read as I turn in for the night. Many thanks.

Andrew

Lilting and . . . lovely. 'Lovely' is probably overused as a descriptor nowadays, but at this time in the morning, its the only suitable emotive descriptor I can conjur.

Such floaty and . . . intriguing a take on this mystery as you call it.

Keep writing.

This is so nicely put together.... as if it just poured out of you. It is though too good in word choice and flow to believe it just fell onto the page - yet somehow, it doesn't seem overly 'worked'.

Very nicely done! I enjoyed this.
