Array ( [sid] => 59371 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Still [time] => 2004-08-08 15:26:35 [hometext] => I have long been a fan of the musical and lyrical stylings of Jim Stienman ( think Meatloaf ), this is a poor, first attempt to emulate the master. Thank you Jim for all the inspiration. [bodytext] => ( instrumental intro )

... And in the still of the night
I can still hear you call
I see you standing in the shadows
When there's no one there at all
And when the lights go down
When everybody's gone home
I know that I won't have to spend
This long cold night alone
Because I see you in my dreams
And the night won't be as hard as it seems
'Cuz you'll take me off to places that I've never been
And when the mornin light arises then you'll leave me once again
And while all of this I know to be true ...
I still love you ~

And in the cold grey light of mornin'
With a chill in the air
The wind is blowin' softly
Like your fingers through my hair
My body starts to tremble as a chill runs down my spine
Like your breath upon my neck when our hearts still beat in time
I turn around and watch as your image fades away
And I've gotta find the strength to make it through another day ~
Because I'll see you in my dreams
And the night won't be as hard as it seems
'Cuz you'll take me off to places that I've never been
And when the mornin' light arises then you'll leave me once again
And while all of this I know to be true
I still love you ~

( instrumental interlude )

I know you're gone for good this time
You're never comin' back
And I've gotta find a way somehow
To finally face that fact
But I can't let you go, as long as you won't let me be
No matter what I do, I know I never can be free
As long as I ~ Still see you in my dreams
And the night isn't as hard as it seems
And you take me off to places that I've never been
Then the mornin' light arises and you leave once again
And while all of this I know to be true
I still love you ~

( instrumental interlude )

And I'm still wanting you
Although I'm haunted by you
I've tried forgetting 'bout you
But I'm still regretting were through
And I still want to know
How I'm supposed to let go
I still want someone to say
Just why God took you away ~

And why he lets me ~ See you in my dreams
Why the nights are so much more than they seem
When you take me off to places that I've never been
Why when the mornin' light arises you leave me all over again
And why there isn't a Damn thing I can do ~
Why I still love ... you

( now, if I could just get it in front of Meatloaf, LOL )

Dear Naz, I could the mournful music through your mournful words and tone. A beautiful tribute to a friend of yours. Music that takes you places you've never been. I play the piano and organ......and many is the time I've done the same thing. Listening to music and dreaming of things somewhere far beyond man!
Loved this beautiful song! Send it to everyone that has anything to with music......I think you have a hit!
And Welcome again to the best Poem Site in the Land!
Lovingcritters,
consue

Oh, such pain, my dearest Scott! Such a morbid, anguish-filled write, and yet, it still captivates me... I have come across this pain also, my sweet chasseur; if only there was a way to rid you of it... Excellent flow, incredible words! I believe the great Meatloaf would accept this, if not, then he is utterly insane. This is a beautiful yet very sad write, Naz... You have a lot of talent, and I'm sure, as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, that you will go places! I should dedicate this to my ex... It expresses my feelings towards him so potently and gracefully... However, that was long ago, and I am unto new flesh! heheh... I thank you for sharing this masterpiece, as are all of your works! Forever your devoted fan! Eternally yours,

FleurdeSang

It's the surreal eel y.know feel.

What emotional depth!

Well done!
