Etched in stone, typed in print, or scrawled on paper
They possess some of the strongest magic known to man
Lines transform into symbols, the symbols become letters
The letters produce words
Magic
Words hold within themselves power
The proper combination of words can start or end wars
They can bring a strong man to his knees
Make the weakest child invincible
Words can make you laugh or cry
They can blind you from the truth, or open your eyes
To unlimited possibilities
Words can make you think
They can make you feel
They can make you sing
Or they can make you bleed
Words can be the the source of anguish
Of pain and sorrow
Such intense despair that its depths are unfathomable
Words feed the imagination
Take you places that you have never been
Show you things within your mind
That you could never hope find
Alone
They can make you dream
They can make you love
They can make you believe, or they can make you doubt
Words can spark fires of jealousy
They can illuminate your darkest fears ...
Words are magic ... words are power
More magic, more power
Much more responsibility
Than I know what to do with, or care to weild
Anymore
I lay down my pen, as I hang up my robes
I renounce my abilities
Who and what I have been, I am no longer
I renounce my magic

No more

Once again, you have captivated me, dearest Naz! Your description of words, and how they make you feel is incredible!! True talent lies in the words. And you have showed this to me very eloquently! Never stop writing Naz... If you do choose that path, then all is lost for me... I love reading your work, and I will never get tired of reading them! I am, and shall forever be, your greatest fan and friend! Don't leave me in the dark, with only the dusty poems of your past, and nothing new and fresh to "feed my imagination"... Dearest, sweet Naz, your words are my sanctuary, my secret haven... A place where I can hide and bask in perpetual thoughts and dreams... A place where everything is possible. This masterpiece has evolved my senses, and my ways of percieving... I loved it! On to read more!

Oh, Scott... This piece is fabulously written! But... those last four words. To read this and to know what writing means to you... to understand how very much it is because I recognize myself in this... and then... to read those last four words - it's nearly more than I can bear. I know how difficult a time it had to be for you to write this. I have, as you know, been there myself. I would be in tears right now if I hadn't already glimpse Ressurection.

Words are.... everything. Writing is... thinking, feeling, processing.... living. To go without... is akin to dying. I'm so very sorry to hear that you had to. I know it's past tense... but... perhaps memories of the struggle linger - as they do for me.

Knowing...
SNM

As the song went...It's only words and words are all I have to take your heart away...Words can make or break a heart indeed. Your magic with words is fantastic...keep writing.
