Array ( [sid] => 59164 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Losing Faith [time] => 2004-08-06 17:22:49 [hometext] => Purely fictional, but from the heart, full of dual meaning [bodytext] => Nine months of changes, schedule rearranging
Two nights of hell when the Doc said "It's not going well"
Her name, it came to me in the middle of the night
I don't know why, but somehow it just felt right
And we called her Faith
We called her Faith

The doctor said if I'm religious I should pray
He feels certain that her mother will be saved
But complications put the baby in distress
He's done all he can and right now God must do the rest
I can't lose Faith
Oh God, I can't lose Faith

Twenty two years later as I walked her down the aisle
I whispered that I loved her, in return I got a smile
Her future stood before us, we were standing at the brink
And as I placed her hand in his, I couldn't help but think
I'm losing Faith
Oh God, I'm losing faith

She was working in an office on the eighty second floor
The last words that I heard her say were "... Dad, I love you more"
The call ended abruptly, the line went dead and then
"If you'd like to place a call, please hang up and try again"
I just lost Faith
I've just lost my Faith

*grabs tissue* This one is bittersweet. I think this one is my favorite so far.

My sweetest Naz, though fiction, this grabs my heart and rips it to pieces! Dreadfully sad! I can only imagine... Excellent write! I felt my eyes burn, and noticed tears cascading down my cheeks... You had me crying since it came to

"I can't lose Faith
Oh God, I can't lose Faith"...

This beautiful, but sad write does have 2 meanings. You have great talent, Scott. The ending of this poem was...... beyond heartrending. I am emotionally wiped out... Thank you for sharing this. Sweetest poet, may happiness fill your life, and your love for Faith be everlasting. Never lose her... All my love! Eternally yours,

Fleur
