What mysteries await
What secrets stand beyond the door
When my life I take

Is it as the Christians teach
of paradise and hell
Or as the atheist believe
Only one way to tell

As Columbus did in days of old
To explore the great unknown
But no Nina, Pinta or Santa Maria
For this I do Alone

Please don’t grieve or shed a tear
Of sadness do not partake
Place no blame and feel no guilt
The decision was mine to make

And if by chance you think of me
As the years unfold
I hope you smile with fond remembrance
And close to your heart those hold

I love the rhyme and flow of this verse. To lose someone that you love deeply can bring about all these emotions and feelings. You have expressed those emotions beautifully in this piece.
