Array ( [sid] => 58894 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Day You Left [time] => 2004-08-04 15:53:48 [hometext] => This is for Rachael, one of my best friends and the sweetest girl in the world. Our little group (Me, Rachael, Gwyn and Marissa) got split up today because Rachael left. It sucks, yeah. But I just sat down and wrote this so here it is... [bodytext] => The day you left us,
The clouds were crying
The day you left,
The sky was gray
I looked over my shoulder
You were still there
Standing in the cold
But only for a moment
The rain washed you away

The day you left,
I wanted to die
I wanted to bleed the pain away
I stared at your picture
To remind myself of then
So long ago
Just yesterday
Will things ever be that way again?
You were smiling
So alive
Still with us
But you left
You're gone

The day you left,
I cried until my eyes were red
Until I thought that they would bleed
I felt so empty,
I felt so cold
Left out in the rain alone
I remember just wanting you to be happy
But not wanting to bear
The sadness inside me
Will this ever end?
Will we ever be a whole again?
Come back
Come back
So we can be a family again [comments] => 2 [counter] => 143 [topic] => 55 [informant] => iluvpencils [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

This is a lovely dedication to someone whom, if they read it, would feel very comforted, i'm sure.

I like your use of rhyme & rhythm too.

Keep writing.
