All this * that strands me here
To leave me alone
While joy disappears
And darkness forms
And suffocates life
And destroys light
And rewrites the norm
To discover...
This World isn't what it appears
And people learn what they should fear
It's not drugs, it's not guns, no it's not these wars
It's these lies, these promises of light
A preacher speaks to his sons, but venom just spews out
Rewriting that which is truth, replacing that which makes you, you
And you accept it
And try to fit in
And try to be cool
But it doesn't work! You're making yourself look like a fool
And you accept it
That which is thought, is not what should be!
That which is taught, the answers elude me!

Far too often society connects ones angst, anger, and discontent towards conformity with being young, naive, and/or cliche... Which just goes to show the depths of society's thirst for conformity, it's comfort to them... But to some, to the freethinkers... Conformity is death, however slow or quick it might be... it is truly something to mourn.

Great work, we need to champion the freethinkers.

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."~ Friedrich Nietzsche
