His Voice

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His Voice
A gentle voice soothed me
When I was very young
Assuring and calming my heart
With every song it sung
No matter the pain
No matter the fear
The voice always reassures
Love is always near
Over the years it has sustained me
Given my heart confidence to withstand
Always there to encourage
And help me understand
Sometimes other voices
Such as despair and sadness try to take control
But always without fail
Only one soothes your soul
That of your father
The voice death sought to end
Aww but when the voice is love
Silence is not possible my friend
Oh yes the pain of separation
The sense of loss and remorse
Can sometimes numb the heart
While mourning runs its course
But his voice shall return
To guide you on your way
And the heart shall hear
Who listens everyday
Russ
Russ, what a loving heart and soul you command! No one has ever written a poem about their father that was more kind and understandable as this yours!
This will bring Kie hours of consolation and comfort, and what a loving, compassionate gesture on your part!
I love kind hearts!
ConSue
I miss his voice so much. I have his voice on my answering machine from awhile back that I never deleted. I've played it a thousand times.
I would give anything for one more conversation. Just one more.
This is tender and beautiful.
I know he would never leave me willingly and this brings me comfort.
I wish I could read this poem to him.
From my heart I thank you for this poem.
Kie
