[hometext] => Did you ever hear about the man in the moon? They say that if you tell him your troubles before you went to sleep, while you were sleeping he would solve all of your problems for the next day. I wish i could believe it....

To tell all my troubles to the man in the moon---
---and maybe have him whisk my cares away...
And I would tell him my melancholy thoughts, my 'insignificant' worries, my cares, my fears,
And I wouldn't stop until everything was free,
(and then maybe I would also be free...
at least for a little while...)
Maybe it would be too much to hope for, Peace of mind?
But I will tell him everything anyway,
For I am too afraid to tell anyone else,
of my inner struggles that haunt inside,
And as I speak to you; Man in the moon,
I'll cry for just a little while,
Because I know I will hope that somewhere out there,
There is somebody who will listen as much as you seem to.
And even though I will speak to you,
I do feel that by tomorrow, nothing will have changed,
But who knows?
Maybe you DO listen, maybe you DO care and maybe I WILL feel better.
Here's hoping...
(There are so many maybes)
And again,
Maybe one day there will be someone real who I can turn to.
I may even know them now,
You may be reading this,
But until I find you, I will always whisper my troubles to the night,
For, in this moment in time, it is all I have.
But for now I will just sleep,
And maybe, just maybe I will be happy again tomorrow,
and you will have worked your magic upon me.
But...we will see...
So, just in case, here it is:
Thankyou for being here for me,
for listening without laughing,
and for calming my fears.
And I may not know you, but I know you are a true friend.

Awww.....phil this is such a sweet rendition to the questions we ask in hopes that just ONE person will listen. The moon is a mystical orb just hanging there, but gazing at it makes us feel it is listening to our inner thoughts,whereas the sun? Well heck, it just warms us.lol

Awww, Phil. He is a good listener, isn't he?
You've done a wonderful job of capturing nighttime thoughts... the ones that come before you succomb to a night's rest, after the clutter of day has fallen away, when it's just you and those noisy inner thoughts looking for an outlet. It's a wonder we ever do sleep (not that WE do much) for all the 'noise'.
*considers it is, at least in part, the best and the worst thing about being a pondering Libra*
Knowing this feeling all too well and ever so thankful that you've put it into words... for I find comfort in knowing I'm not the only one looking to the moon,

I read this one before, but alas for my business, had no time to comment. I think it's very touching. The idea is whimsical, but the feeling behind it is serious. Nice work, friend!
