she stares unblinking into the distance.

The bluish pallor of her skin, cold as stone,
hard and stiff,
she lies unmoving on the ground.

Night engulfs her fragile form,
the cold air holds her within its grip
it's been two hours lying there,
and no one knows she's gone.

Her blood pooled at her side,
the emptiness in her soul and mind
stretching across her unmarked grave,
a place of hatred and pain.

Her youthful innocence had fled from her,
as fast as her blood had flowed,
her soul had been severed and scarred
as her screams had died along with her.

Her face expressionless,
her essence trapped in an unmoving, un-living prison,
as no help is coming,
and it is far too late now.

She has become one of the countless,
one of the innocent that has been slaughtered,
part of the reason why trust has died,
why hope, for us, has faded.
