[title] => My Poems Don't Rhyme
[time] => 2004-07-31 20:51:37
[hometext] => i'm not nocking people who write poems that rhyme, if that's your thing, i'm cool with that
[bodytext] => I choose not to rhyme my poems. To many set out to write today with only the rhyme, And lacking the reason. To me a rhyming poem feels like a cage, It holds back emotions, thoughts, and meaning. These always come first in my poems. I choose to write a poem with purpose. A poem that inspires, One about love and hate, Truth and lie, And about the resolve of the human spirit. I do not write nursery rhymes for bedtime, My poems have meanings within meanings that keep you up at night, deep in thought. I write poems with ideas spilling of the page, Ones so deep you need to read them twice before you can even begin to grasp them. My poems don’t rhyme. My words are free to jump from one line to the next, Expressing them selves and stirring emotions you’ve never felt, Without fear of retribution from a writer with a one-track mind. These are the types of poems that challenge ideals and bring down the walls of conformity. I don’t write poems to please your ear, Rather to satisfy your mind, Overwhelm your heart, And shake your soul. My poems don’t rhyme.
