Burning till there's ashes
Trying to kill the past with matches

You cannot burn away
What was done today
What they had to say

Your life is in flames

You cannot burn the past
It will only come back
The pain will forever last

The past lives again
And makes you die within
You burn the ashes again
But you still feel it within
As it comes back again

The photos in your mind
Are still there within
Still causing pain inside
That will never mend
And you remember again
These images will never end
Your life is in flames to transcend

What you sought to find
Was a better life
The scars on your heart
Make you close yourself off
Burning in flames unable to forget
Afraid to be burned again by them
While you did it to yourself in the end [comments] => 7 [counter] => 149 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
