[bodytext] => The first time I told you of my shameful secret, I thought you would leave, head for the nearest exit. Instead, you wrapped your arms in a comforting embrace, You told me you loved me as you wiped tears from my face. I told you I was damaged and would be no good, You looked me in the eyes and said that's a falsehood. You told me you loved me no matter my past, It wasn't my fault, I shouldn't feel downcast. I still have memories that come to mind, With you by my side they don't become entwined. Your love for me has me completely enshrined, Wrapped up tight, never to unbind. _____________________________________ To those of you who may not know, I was molested by my father. Seek someone you TRUST completely with your most precious valuables, your FEELINGS. I still struggle from time to time but I am not completely overwhelmed. I hope this poem will help someone out there who is struggling with feelings of dispare for something that was not their fault.
