I sat me down at the kitchen table
with paper ready and pen in hand,
the motive was to write some verses
about some thoughts I understand.
I’d barely started on my mission
when I heard a voice inside of me
exclaim in wonder and amazement
“there are lines that I can see!”.

It did not stop with that remark,
but continued on to add with glee
"'Tis truly 'Oh my goodness gracious',
what thou has in front of thee,
when after eons of using candles,
with only paper roughly hewn,
here's a chance to vent my feelings,
though the hand is not my own."

"All the time I've had for thinking,
will not fill one single night,
if you let me be the guidance,
all the verses I will write".
When this knowledge came to surface
I was drawn to make a start
and since then I’ve left the writing
to the Scribe inside my heart.

Oh... well... I read this differently. (It... um.. isn't in the religious poetry category - so maybe I'm on to something) This made perfect sense to me... but I read it as inspiration/poetry bursting forth, coming of its own with the poet merely a conduit. I've written on the phenomenon myself. It is or can be, I guess, an intense experience.

Regardless of whether I've got it right or wrong - it is a great piece. Well done!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
