Array ( [sid] => 58051 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Unexpected Farewells [time] => 2004-07-29 11:57:38 [hometext] => To the men and women in the ARMY inactive reserves being called back to active duty, our thoughts and prayers are with you always. [bodytext] => You served your four years
You thought you were done
Now you're called back to a war
We had supposedly won

Your futures looked clear
As you started your new lives
Now you're asked to leave behind
Your new husbands and new wives

You were told this was possible
But not likely to be
You thought it would never happen
No way, not to me

They say "It won't be long,
A year and a half, two at the most"
You pray your young children do not forget you
remembering only your shadow, to them like a ghost

As you sit with your weapon clutched tight
Staring into the distance blankly
While your families sit at home
Praying you return to them safely

Just remember brave soldiers
You have made it once before
And soon will return home
To the ones you most adore [comments] => 2 [counter] => 174 [topic] => 28 [informant] => princess8383 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Patriotic )

I do not usually write on topics such as this, but Justin is part of the inactive reserves, and I remember how worried I was when I first heard what was happening, my deepest sympathies are with the families of the ones already called back to duty. I pray Justin stays home with me, but if he must go, I will wait as long as I must. : )
