Strong as an oak tree, you stand by my side,
Your branches uplift me, They're my guide.
They hold me tight against strife and tide,
On these branches, I have relied.

Your roots of commitment planted deep and solid,
Withstanding storms that may have flooded.
Carrying nutrients of trust have sprouted.
A love so strong it can't be uprooted.

Your trunk of stability enduring the seasons,
Weathering the storms of strife and unreason,
Allowing the leaves of your love to blossom,
Encompassing me in your never ending passion. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 533 [topic] => 2 [informant] => Gentledove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

What a wonderful tribute to the man you love. It seems to be that you both have excellent tastes in lifelong mates. You did him proud, Gay.

I just love trees Gentledove, with a heart filled with love.......and this poem was splendid indeed to compare the man you love to a steady Oak! It would seem he is very steady, and a wonderful person to stand by you.....I lov ed the way you compared the parts of the tree......the branches, the roots etc. Very well done.....and loving, and lovely too!
Hugs
