Fresh and new
When I first saw you
it was then I knew
You were the one that I was waiting for
You were the one that I was wishing for
When you first looked at me that way
it was my first breath, you took away
And with your first kiss I first stared to live

Time can be cruel
Why did it end?
It was too short
it wasn't the plan.
The night the phone rung it seemed like a dream.
How did it happen? Why did fate take you from me?

My life shattered to into pieces upon the floor.
My heart died along with my dreams.
The day of the funeral I had a plan
Without you there is no reason to go on.
My heart died with you and now my body will too.
I walked in the door and there your body laid
This isn't real, please wake up and come back to me.
You didn't answer my plea. I look around the room.
Our friends and family stand there watching
So much sorrow so much gloom.
They tried to comfort me and the pain will fade with time. They say
They fail to see that without you there is no me.
I make it though the funeral and watch them lower you in the ground.
They cover you and place the flowers all around.
I stand there watching the spot where you lie.
All our friends walk away all the family leaves.
I don't move I just stand there
cold, numb
I lay on top of the fresh turn dirt.
I take the gun and aim for the spot that brings my pain.
In a flash we are together again.
Please forgive me baby I didn't mean to lie.
I just could make it without you by my side.
God give our parents, family and friends.
The strength to go on and handle the lose.
Let them know that we are together again
Let them know I'm smiling again.
Lord dry their tears and bless them with a love that death can't kill.
