Array ( [sid] => 57151 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Packing Up Memories [time] => 2004-07-22 09:30:45 [hometext] => My family started packing our things last night. We're moving to Arkansas soon to be with my mother's family. And as we packed all of our memories in with our belongings, I couldn't help being reminded of the times we when we were all together. [bodytext] => We opened the boxes
And started taking things off the walls
And out of drawers.
So many little moments came to mind.

I found a picture
Of me, Eric, Jacoba, Courney, and Dad
Outside building the tree house
When I was about seven years old.

I found my parent's wedding pictures,
And I remember a time
When I would never have guessed
That those would be torn apart.

But the one thing I never thought I'd find
Was my favorite book as a little kid:
Goodnight Moon, the one that
My dad would read to me every night before bed.

I opened it to the first page
And found the mouse,
Just as I....
Drifted off to sleep. [comments] => 10 [counter] => 676 [topic] => 23 [informant] => hooray_its_jen [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 24 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FamilyPoems )

picturesque and sad. Our memories are ours to keep. Hoping that book offers you a window to some wonderful moments with your dad.

One day you can read to your child from the book knowing that in a way your Dad is also there reading to them. It is something to cherish forever. Memories are beautiful pictures that never fade.

Love,
Rita
