Somehow when the muses of the weekends sings, you must answer it. No matter what the odds, and the activity you must follow their voices. And like the rest of the world be lured to your death.

Friday night. I love the in-betweenness that it brings. The moment that transpires between the weekday and the weekend. It is almost another world. It is like you can feel the sun as it descend upon the Makati skyline. You hold the your breath as the beauty plunges into the sea. Then the music starts. The swirls and the twirls. The parties and the dreams. Hypnotized, you must dance. you must scream ...

And into this crazed world, reality is suspended.

Saturday dreaming. Smoke and candy mix into the bottomless stomach of children in high heels. It is where the rose-colored glasses merge with alcohol goggles. It is the world where we bleed ourselves – to convince us that this is the reality of our lives, knowing in the deepest recesses of our heart that no matter how sweet the music sounds this could never be reality.

This is when the music is the loudest.

Sunday mornings. Somehow Sunday mornings are always too bright, too religious or too loud. This is where after gambling our heart away the music starts to fade. It is the time for talks about the things we did, we shouldn’t have done and what we should do next weekend. It is the time for the fading, soothing aches and desires. The “coffee” moments before reality costumes us with its diamond chains. We strain in our minds to hear the voices of muses – to be exiting, to be passionate, and to feel.

Each time we hope that the voices of the muses will not fade. That we have been lured into our deaths.

But it ends at Midnight, Cinderella.
