It is my only escape
Because when it pours
It begins to take a shape

The pain is so beautiful
I can’t help but stare
I finally found a way
But this way I cannot share

As the pain leaves my mind
I feel such a relief
All the pain is gone
But that feeling is only brief

It comes back to haunt me
At night I toss and turn
I feel the pain growing closer
So close it starts to burn

I let it rain the next day
But this time it’s a storm
The pain takes its shape again
One that feels warm

Pain is a stubborn one
This I will admit
Even though it keeps on raining
The pain it just won’t quit

My mind is filled with endless thoughts
Ones I can’t control
The pain seeps through my body
And even through my soul

I can’t keep fighting the pain
There’s only one way to its end
I think about it everyday
And everyday I contend

I don’t know what was different
Different about today
But today I finally did it
All the pain has gone away

Now I leave a message
To all of whom I love
I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused
But someday we’ll meet above
