The rain is cool like my skin
Laying, feeling every drop
I try not to give in

The thunder begins to rumble
I close my eyes and try to sleep
holding my arms around me
grasping all I have to keep

All I wanted was a warm rain.

The goose bumps are delightful
Though the shuddering will not cease
I have to find a path to warmth
but nothing near holds heat

The remaining warmth
quickly gets driven away
The cold droplets of sorrow
now reign in its place

All I wanted was a warm rain.

By now my breath shows my life
and my skin's gone more sickly pale
All sounds fade from my ears
The air grows surprisingly stale

I push myself back to lean against a tree
as my hand finds a cold slither of steel
The only familiar feeling
that proves my life is real

All I wanted was a warm rain

The coldness kisses my skin
The warmth is released and warms my mind
dripping onto my clothing a red plasma
The thickness sticks and heat abides

Covered in blood and finally warm
I lay against the tree and close my eyes
Falling asleep with finally a smile
As the life I know, now dies

I finally found my warm rain..

Wow this is hard to respond to but for poetry's sake the only response I can give is very well written. On a personal note it is overwhelmingly sad and to know that so many ppl go thru the same thing it breaks my heart but that is what poetry is supposed to do right?

I liked how I was drawn into this poem as
well as the emotions portrayed in this poem,
emotions I don't quite have the correct word
for. In any case this was great... don't be
discouraged by the lack of comments since
your words speak volumes by themselves.
