That no one could compare
That I was unique in every single way
That you truly and deeply care

You said that you would ruin us
That night was o so long
I said that was impossible
I can’t believe I was wrong

You were telling the truth
Because the fact you lied
Friends don’t lie to friends
That’s how they soon subside.

You hid it from me
Because you didn’t want it to hurt
You didn’t want us to end
Now these tears fall upon my shirt.

Because you lied to me
Is why we are done
All the memories we have
From where we once begun

The fact of the matter is
I miss the times we had
I miss talking to you
I don’t want to hurt this bad

I wish it would go away
So I could just forget
I wish that we were still friends
It just makes me more upset

You once had my heart
In the palm of your hand
You knew you had it
But you couldn’t understand

You didn’t want to hurt me
You didn’t want me to cry
You didn’t understand
Why it hurt to pass you by

I want to the hurt to go away
And leave me in my peace
I want to forget the times we had
But I know it will never cease

I had so much trust for you
More than anyone before
You took that trust away
With a quick slam of the door

You are happy now
I know that’s it’s true
But you can’t tell me
That you don’t miss me too. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 217 [topic] => 16 [informant] => MaRyDoNtUwAnNa [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 17 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )
