driping down the first cut
the first sign of hatered of oneself
the first sign of **** everything
the second sign of pain
blood, slow and sweet
as my body relaxes knowing what I have done
some of the pain pours out like the blood
and puts me at a state where I can finally know that I am living
because I can see the rush of life
but in my mind I'm dead
my mind is screwed up
and there's nothing I can do
blood, just barely grazing my hand now as it drips unto the paper
what amazing beauty as it trickles down my cut vein
blood, it helps to release the pain
that burns like a thousand fires
all reared up inside
but then the fires fade away
as more of this precious fluid flows out
too much of it now gone
the fire is put out
as I lay dying [comments] => 3 [counter] => 174 [topic] => 36 [informant] => screwup [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

Wow! You should read some of my dark poetry. I'm screwed up too, but writing about it keeps the crimson on the paper, never to harm myself. I kind of like writing more than dying. Go figure. Nice write though! Stay alive and write, it feels soooooo much better!
Good luck to you...
Angel always...joni

Very profound. As a former cutter I find poems on self- mutilation and similar activities intriguing. You wrote so beautifully. Thank you for writing for those of us with similar experiences that have not found the words yet. Bravo.
