Trickled heartbeats faster than water faucet
Leaking
Drained by sunlight bursting open the sky
All bets are off
It was meant to be love
Nothing more – nothing less
Disguised and sly
He walked tall
Scanned the room
And picked a new one
Flashy red lips
Chrome knees made promises
Soft leather upholstery
Kissed him
Made him smile with pride
Baby give me one more ride
In that 57 Chevy

We have so many pretty babies---
a 1940 Oldsmobile
a 1965 Mustang
a 1982 Mercedes
a 1988 Cabriolet
When you LOVE cars, it never ends. I love this poem. My hubby will, too.
