Oceans 911

Contributed by 01_zanzebar on Monday, 19th July 2004 @ 11:36:19 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Tricks licensed to thrill
Lives are chopped up for kills
Now new days lat for eternity
Tunnels searched through from darkened nights
Blinding lights and soda pops
Bursting caps with neon lights
Translucent matt’s
Inlay inside melting glass

From corners of the lesser minds
To the corners in our minds
As lesser we aren’t
As betters we aren’t
Electrical currents
Liquid viscosities
A stream of information
Leading to the sea of knowledge
To an ocean of uncertainty

Terrorise new lives
Darkness now on rails
Explosives lay in minds
Like winds and storms
Their peace kills
What ever their war has left over
This ocean is a vision
A past narcotic
Once bitten
Forever bitter

The roads are full up
The arms factories chimneys smoke
On the wall is chopped like eyes and shadows
From pens to permanents
The illusion is complete
From the very child who attends school
To the drivers that pass the billboard
It says
We have peace today

But for that peace tomorrow
In your lives, you will have to pay

Don't know where freespirit's been looking but it can't have been in here, as there's many good poets available to read . . . anyway - onto your poem.

Nice, catchy title. Nice, catchy rhythm - and no, i'm not going to describe your poem with such a twee adjective as 'nice' - affective, distinct and thought-provoking write.

Well done, I enjoyed it muchly.

Thanks for sharing.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
