The trouble with a king
is this. If he sleeps
he will insist on being slept with.
Many an Eden has been buried
this way. He may blame it
on witches, a missing party
invitation. He might point to poison
apples and other garden fruit.
But the truth? He will order
the decree and believe
if beauty can only fall
asleep first, the inevitable
suffocation will be painless.
After all, he is already gone.
And kisses? These will be
strictly forbidden.
Who could stand
waking inside
a tomb?

This really made me think. The imagry of familiar tales became contorted; like a sick fairytale i guess.
