You said you loved me a lot and I believed you.
You showered me with attention and love for a while and I became convinced that I was yours.
When you went away I was sad, eager for your return.
When you came back I was blinded by happiness, all I saw was you.

I blinded myself with what you told me was love.
I allowed myself to believe all that you convinced yourself of.
But now I know what is true.
There never was, there isn't, it's over.

Deep down I knew, weeks ago.
I don't think you have a clue.
There is nothing left.
It's over.

For a while I have felt like a convenience.
You were only with me when you wanted.
That just isn't acceptable.
It's over.

You don't want a relationship.
You want to keep your puppy.
You want worship and no work.
It's over.

I had no idea you were so immature.
You crave love so badly that you leave yourself with none to give.
It's over.

This isn't a relationship anymore.
When communication breaks down there isn't anything left.
It's over.

You convinced yourself that you love me.
Justification for keeping me around.
You made me love you because you never stopped trying.
But now it's over.

I never knew what to do with you.
We never did do anything.
Your relationship with me was for sex.
You craved acceptance in the worst way.

Does the world owe you so much that someone should love you but you can ignore them?
Where did you get this higher attitude?
What you want isn't me, but I'll get you that puppy.

Puppies love you no matter what you do or don't do.
People need more.
That is why I can finally tell you now.
I am no longer your puppy,
It's over. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 152 [topic] => 6 [informant] => DragonLuvSong [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

That poem was beautifully written. At first I thought it was going to be about a dog, but it turned out to be really serious and just using that as a metaphor. Nice job. Keep writing.

Good use of metaphor in the title. Very good poem.
