The limits of honesty
And the limits too of
Democracy
Now we’ll see
Just how far they’ll go
With this schemer Bush
As “Honest Joe”
Now we’ll see them
Using fear
Planning paranoia
To cost you dear
To drive you into
Their waiting arms
To a protective embrace
Of dubious charms
“Danger! Danger! Everywhere!
But don’t worry…
Your shepherd’s here!”
Warnings of doom
“Don’t try to change!”
This is not the time
To rearrange
We’ve seen similar tactics
In foreign lands
By desperate despots
With filthy hands
But do you expect it here?
In the land of the free
Such a shining example
Of democracy?
Look for sinister threats
To make you cowed
To manipulate your souls
And keep heads bowed
To kneel down to Bush
The saviour on high
The warrior dunce
Who lives by a lie
Be ready for threats
Of terrible things
Be ready for warnings
Of what change brings
Look out for speeches
Full of doom
Be ready for war
From the oval room
But the war they are planning
Is not a terrorist fight
It’s a fight for survival
A surge to the right
The planners are planning
How to win the VOTES war
Using terror AGAINST you
To even the score
Is this what you hope for?
Is all fair in love and war?
And is this TRULY
What our DEMOCRACY'S FOR?

After the shameful spectacle of Bush touting his office using images of 9/11, a propaganda-led full-frontal of fear and dire war-talk is certainly on the Saddam-Cards.

"The warrior dunce"

Lol. I personally don't think he's stupid, Steel - no evil mastermind, but he must be shrewd of a kind, to avoid being thrown in jail at least once in his fifty-odd years . . .

Another nice write. Keep 'em coming.
