is it your conscience?
That convicts you and holds you
in a chain filled garden
Like a fly caught in a sundew
you can not find a way to flee
all the worries that engulf you
it's a heinous agony

(Chorus)
Face the crucible
when your back's against the wall
if you run from your problems
they'll be around the next corner
listen to a man whose tried
and has learned his lesson
You have to walk through the fire
if you want to overcome

(Chorus)

You say I have no right to tell you
what to do with your life
Did I judge or set contention
that now fills your soul with strife?
If your heart is feeling guilty
it is not because of me!
It's the confirmation of truth
and your true reality

(Chorus)

If you steal from somebody
your conscience steals away from you
and your innocense gets shattered
popped just like a child's balloon
condemnation fills your heart space
like a river of blood
flooding out the child of purity
drowning him with in the flood

(Chorus)

Like a dream
we live a lie
a shadow covers
our inner child
and he cries
"Please don't let me die
free me from the dark deluge"

(Chorus)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Hard times purify us like fine gold refined
set ablaze in the skillful maker's hand
until it almost perishes in the flames that purify
when the reflection of the maker is seen
and the gold shines like a mirror
the skilled forger knows that the gold is pure
and the afflictions of the flame is taken away.

Wow! This is incredible! I couldn't agree with this message more. I thought of pasting some lines I really liked, but I realized that would mean repeating most of the poem here...
Amazing piece. Bravo!

Andrew
