You threw open windows and doors,
And let me see the view that I had missed
Shut up in my little world.
You removed the blinders that my myopic vision
Had caused to shut out the differences around me,
And you kissed away the tears and healed the bruises,
And taught me how to see.
You found me crumpled up against the wall
Crying all my tears,
And you picked me up, dusted me off,
And quieted all my fears.
You gave me laughter, a sense of safety,
And you gave me back my pride,
I don't know how I would've found my way,
I honestly believe, without you, I would've died.
You found me in such a state of depression,
Hopelessness, and loss,
But you took me home to repair me,
And you never counted your cost.
Many say I did the fixing myself,
But you dusted the parts that I couldn't reach.
And now, it's my turn to help you, by letting go,
And seeing that you have a new pupil to teach. ginsdance, that was a wonderful poem! A very unique way of looking at the situation. Letting go of someone you love isn't easy, I applaud you.

Great poem - beautiful words. I hope you will be ok - it's going to be tough, but you seem to have a mature outlook, so good luck!
