Array ( [sid] => 55556 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Love Or Lie [time] => 2004-07-09 23:54:26 [hometext] => I wrote this poem after having my heart broken for not the first, but third time. I find that (for me) it is easier to write when in despair than when happy. It is odd that inspiration should come at such desolate times. [bodytext] => The direction my life is taking, the way my heart is breaking;
Allowed me to see to the past, to the moment we shared last;
Of how he is no longer in my life, and how my existence is filled with strife;
No longer a comfort in my home, teaching me things I need to be shown;
Then I recall our instant attraction, when we both decided to take action;
Something only believed to be love, I took the jump blinded by trust;
The light has been shown to me, and now I can see;
I realize that you aren' that guy, that I had been decieved by my eyes;
our relationship had turned to lust, and by then we cared to little to make a fuss;
So we kept on living a lie, neither wanting to say good-bye;
I finally decided it was time to walk away, though what made me I could not say;
So now I'm going to say good-bye, because our love was nothing but a lie [comments] => 2 [counter] => 187 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Adriean [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Very good write! I relate to it as well. The whole lust thing. I have done some poems on love versus lust and what not. And it's true, even if you know deep down, it is hard to walk away. Takes a lot of strength.
