The Path You're On

Contributed by Jeff_Scott_Morehead on Friday, 9th July 2004 @ 08:34:41 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The Path You’re On
-------------------
The path you’re on might bring you riches,
Might bring you attention and incredible fame.
The path you’re on might make you noticeable,
Making you a house hold name.

The path you’re on might find you friends,
Drinking buddies and social pests
The path you’re on might make you feel,
Like you’re better than all the rest.

The path you’re on might bring you happiness,
If only for a little while.
The path you’re on darkens the future,
For you’re living in the now.

The path you’re on needs no explaining,
For it’s really easy to see.
The path you’re on is leading to a place,
That takes you further from me.

The path you’re on brings me sadness,
It’s difficult to watch you go.
The path you’re on is undetermined,
It’s future no one can know.

The path you’re on I can not change,
Only you can choose the road.
But the path you’re on leads to nowhere,
And that’s not something that you’re owed.

How I wish I could save you,
From the path I know you’re on.
For I’m afraid in my heart,
That this path will bring your harm.
