I am not a coward.
I have saved up all my courage,
and my reward,
is to have no fear of death.
This quieter tone of silence,
that is lonliness,
will not leave me be.
I knew happiness at one time.
But it was lost or stolen from me,
and I would not have a clue
as to where to begin to search for it.
Nor would I even recognize when
I saw it.
To the few that love me ,
I can only say,
that I can no longer live
just for you,
because you want me here.
I stopped living for myself long ago.
The only other love I have found
in this world,
has been conditional.
My resume will never meet
the criteria.
I have stuck it out as long as I can.
This marriage with life is over.
Now I must think of myself,
and my happiness.
Please do not cry when I am gone.
There have been far greater tragedies
in this world,
that no one has bothered,
to shed a tear over. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 231 [topic] => 36 [informant] => POOBEAR [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

Don't say good bye... I understand how you can want to not live for anyone else... but there are forms of Agape love out there (unconditional). In fact, God has an Agape love for everyone :)

Besides... we'd all miss your wonderful poetry!!! I loved the poignant write, even if it made me sad...

Don't do it. I tried the same about 15 years ago. My life got better. I did find people who unconditionally loved me. You've got a great gift with words. This poem really hit home and touched me. It was beautiful.

Wow. I didn't think anyone could get inside my mind as well as you did in this write. You have even quoted me. The saddest thing in life is a waste of talent and we couldn't afford to lose you. Times like these can only make you stronger. Don't give up you never know if tomorrow might be better. Take care and keep writing.

you should never say good-bye it is so final and living for others is never the way to be. Life can be great if you want it to be. Your poem is very well written but so sad.

Very wonderfully written but a bit troubling. I truly hope your words are just that and your strength against them prevails. Life is short as it is and whatever troubles you have now WILL end eventually... Tomorrow will come and you WILL find peace and happiness in life if you choose to. Nothing and no one can stop you from being happy if you choose that for yourself. I have been there, I know exactly what the loneliness and despair feels like. Look at the other comments, you are not alone and you CAN change your path to make it a happy one. Good luck and if you need to talk you can find me on here.
