that we call life
words of con fusion
burned deep into my mind,
I never thought that colors
really made a difference
I never wanted to believe
racial issues still survive.

Went to the movies with my lady
mingling with the everyday people
laughing and talking
having a good time
when somone with a look of dismay
is telling me
i should be with my own kind,
no one here really wants you
to the jungle
you should swing back
we shoot porch monkeys around here
there will be no mixing
white with black.

Now no one is talking
people start to clear out
the tension is so thick
you can cut it
with a knife,
deep inside
I feel violence rising
but on the outside
I only smile.
As we stand in
silence
like two gun fighters
in a western duel,
my world is slowly
cracking
from ignorant peoples views. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 146 [topic] => 6 [informant] => secretwind [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

My first reaction is shock that people would react like this in today's world. Then I am ashamed to live in the same world as them. And I am sorry for you that you experienced this, someone so eloquent with words and undoubtedly sensitive by nature. Please just walk on, and have faith that God is watching - He sees all, and such people will surely pay when the time comes. hugs-angelav
