I told myself I wouldn't post this type of stuff of mine, But well, here is one........ It's not good, poetry wise, but contains the way I feel. [bodytext] =>

Loneliness, bites through to the sole
But it doesn’t matter, I have to control
Be it alone, or in a crowded place
I will put my mask, on over my face
I have 4 children, which must come first
Despite how much, for company I thirst

Loneliness, I, a blinding blizzard, standing naked
It cuts through to the bone, nothings sacred
During nights, I often awake like this
I step out of bed, fall into the abyss
The deep dark depths, of complete nothingness
An hour or so left, to find control nonetheless

Loneliness, it feels like … just me
A solitary fish, way out in the sea
Keep my mind occupied, now that’s a big task
Where do I start, I guess get off my (_._)
Start with the vacuum, and end with the mop
Dust off those shelves, usually helps a lot

Loneliness is, within these four walls
On these days when into depression I fall
Loneliness has, dug deep into my heart
With no-one to share that special part
Loneliness is, well I guess it is me
And from how I feel, how I’ll always be

A very stark and emotive work, Mick.

Hope your loneliness gets tooth decay soon . . . and you find someone to lift the veil . . .

I don't know why you don't post them. It is not like a lot of us have not been through it. Many many of us understand and deal with these emotions. I lived for 15 years alone except for my children just using my work to immerse myself in, but it does not fill that void. You are still young and you deserve love and sharing a life. Your children need a loving female figure to add to their growth. If not for you then for them Mick. I do understand and am living that again but now I don't have work to dissolve into, just my own lonliness. Go for it and take a chance. At least keep your eyes and heart open to the idea. I am here if you ever need to talk to someone who really understands and many more of us too.

Smiles,
Rita

The sacrafices that loving parents make for their children will never be truly realized. This was a very stark write and poetically, I think, very good. But what do I know? I liked it and felt it. And isn't that what poetry is all about? Kudos, Mick!

Wow! Your words sound as if you were inside MY head. So often times we get so lonely that the walls become our best friends. They listen when we talk. And I love the line about the vacuum and mop, thats exactly what I do. CLEAN to absorb my minds vacant time. Ok so how IS Australia??? :-)
Take care Mick! If you need a fellow lonely shoulder, never feel alone as long as you have US! What a group, eh?
If you need a friend...you know my email!
Take care....
~angel~ always...godspeed...joni

ohhhhh... mick this poem is so beautiful, i have tears in my eyes, ...i know so well how you feel, many times i have a smile on my face when my heart is sinking and i actually really dont feel it, but kids are pretty slick and as they get older they can see right through that, sure they are my closest people on earth, yet to be able to grow old with someone was a dream for me for so long; for me no one ever compared with the life i shared with their dad, i know its different for everyone, reasons why one is alone... this line,"I step out of bed, fall into the abyss" says it all; oh! to have someone's warm arms waiting when you climb back under the quilts, ...your whole last stanza just tore me up; that is exactly how i feel, ...although one of the reasons i live is for my children {the biggest one}, i wonder why must i ever go it alone, surely there is someone who can genuinly love me and share my life, all i can say is if your heart is made lighter, and life made sweeter by someone you can evision happily spending your days with who you may love who truely loves your children too, take that chance, for otherwise you may never know the happiness and laughter in that home of the future, and your children's happiness and feeling of security as well, ...your poem is deeply beautifully heartfelt, keep writing! hugs n' love nessa

Well, it's not nice to know you're lonely...but it's nice that you're willing to share part of yourself with us. We all feel lonely at times. Well, at least I do...keeping busy does help. That's why I write...night time is the worst for me. My site is nearly finished..I'm waiting for someone else from down under to put music on it for me...then I don't know how I'll keep busy...my kids are grown. ...I could make problems for you...keep you busy LOL

Oh Mick...(((((((((((hug))))))))))
You know my stand on this.....You need to take a chance on love.... go for it!! You are much too young not to. The tribe will understand...and will welcome the change. You are half way there already... so it shouldn't be too hard. See ya later!
((((((((((warm hugs)))))))))

wow some really wince-worthy-comments you got on that mick. :)
nice piece of work, for me I liked the stepping out of bed part- that for some twirling above my head reason really- related to my own loneliness---that one step out of bed can sort of highten the lonliness, I dont know if you feel similliar - the laying in bed lonliness and then the connection of the feet with the floor brings with it a certain smashing reality.
on another note its really a novelty to have you posting, dont do it too regularly or the KICK will go! :)

wow...
that's an awesome poem.
extremely discriptive, explaining how you feel inside, no matter how much you wish you didnt.
Keep up your hopes, be good to your children, and hopefully you'll get better.

Being lonely sure makes me feel like a steaming pile of dog crap, but any how I would like to read some more of your poems you wrote like this one some times people need to see that others feel like the rest of us that feel alone
