I believe it could possibly be the best thing I've ever written. I'm definitely proud of it. This could define my poetry and my ability. Hmmm... *crosses fingers* [bodytext] => If I wrote a million wasted words tonight
On a billion different worthless plight
Would any of it matter when things
Leave me wondering what happiness brings.

On truth-less notions washed cardboard stare
Based off books never read by those who care
And the honest fabled liars tale
Causing humiliation where angels fell.

See a wingless bird in flight
Dance amongst the cloudless night
Dip and soar; trace the sky
And scream a lifeless lulliby.

To ask the questions of this life
Research philosophies and bury strife
Gain enough knowledge until you know
Beauty ends when winds cease to blow.

So, if I wrote the story of the world forever
Would words be my wings that take me to never
And drop me off on their way back to the Heavenly gate
So, I no longer have to wish on a star that won’t wait.

oh lindsey, this is an exceptional poem, beautifully written and captivatingly wonderful, i really love this line," would words be my wings that take me to never", i always have that in a slightly different version in my head, if words had wings they could fly to you... the whole poem is smoothly flowing and ties together, i agree, its one of your best:) hugs n' love nessa

Such deep reflection. If I could give you a 10 I would. In fact, I will, lol. ^^^^^^^^^^
This poem captures the thoughts of many many poets in time.

This is amazing Lindsey..
You've really hit the mark this time,
very, very deep, i guess you have been doing alot of soul searching.
This IS in my opinion the best i have read of yours.
Keep up the brilliant work, and thankyou for sharing. :)

It's not hard to see why you are proud of this; it's got everything going for it, both technically and emotionally. You've always been a great writer, but I think you've raised the bar with this one.

Well, I told ya what I thought of it on msn, Lindsey, but it's so good I don't mind saying it again :).

This poem is absolutely, jaw-droppingly, poignantly, beautiful. The first line, and the "would words be my wings" line, are two of the best lines I've read, period, in quite some time.

Great job, hon.
